Bistrogirl Posted January 10, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2017 I'm new to Royal and wondering how the elevator layout affects cabin locations... example on navigator of the seas, do the doors to elevators open right in front of Cabin 8550 or is it a wall in front of the cabin? Thank you :) Sent from my iPhone using Forums

We've never had any issues with noise from the elevators.
cb at sea Posted January 11, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2017 (edited) Elevator and stairs are in a foyer...RCI makes SURE there is nothing to bother the cabins. No worries....great location! We LOVE being near the elevator foyer! It's not clearly shown on the deck plans, but there IS a foyer...NOTHING opens directly to the cabins! Usually we try to get near the aft elevators one deck up from the dining room and promenade so we can just walk down one level to the main areas. We wind up only using the elevators to go up to the pool, crown, or windjammer. Some folks prefer to be higher up, but this works for us.
maryjaden Posted January 11, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 11, 2017 We also love being close to elevators. If it's only a few decks we usually take the stairs, but it is really convenient if you are going up or down several decks. We have never heard any extra noise from elevators. himan Posted January 11, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 11, 2017 We had a stateroom just along from elevators and we wondered the same thing but as already stated elevators are separated from stateroom corridor and as such there was no noise at all. Have to say we were on deck 6 promenade stateroom above guest services on Independence and were never bothered by noise at all.
