I don't know which they open first. That is really up to you moving forward. The pullman is much more comfortable and somewhat more private. However, if you like having the dining area maintained, you can order a foam egg-crate for the sofa bed to make it a lot more comfy.

Enjoy the suite, it is terrific!

Simply ask your cabin steward for help in making the cabin arrangement

work the best for your comfort.

The King bed obviously works excellent for a party of 2 the other bedding

arrangements are fine for one in the Murphy bed and another on the couch

bed. The Murphy bed and the couch are not suitable for parties of two unless

they are kids. Both the Murphy bed and couch can be left in the bed mode

but best to have them stored creating more usable space - the table can

be parked in front of the King Bed !

Moving about the cabin during night hours can be a bit troublesome bumping

into things and stubbing toes - my method is leave the bath lights on and

the door partially opened emitting just enough light to get by unscathed.

In any event these Family Suite cabins on deck 12 are priced great due to

the lack of balcony space and have more square footage than those on deck 11.

Suites for and aft are a different creature and have balconies.

Nothing prevents cruise customers from bringing a sleeping bag - pull the

floor up and everywhere you can step is your bed - hammocks are for

towel animals only ! LOL !

I've slept in both the couch bed (Star) and the Murphy (Dawn) in the SJ suite. The Murphy was more comfortable.

Be aware that if the room is marked as handicapped, there is *NO* Murphy bed in the room. We found out the hard way and had to have an extra bed brought in.

I love the SJs and wish more ships offered them.

  • 2 weeks later...

Do you know if it is possible to convert the King bed to 2 Twins in the family suites?

There are 3 of us traveling together so the 3 beds are nice but if we can split the king into twins than we wouldnt have to use the couch and would have more room in the suite.

Thanks!
