vfb2girls Posted January 15, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2017 Is there a list of what wines are offered on the beverage package? Also a list of all alcoholic beverages, first time on NCL so lots of questions. Thank you
cheaperts Posted January 15, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2017 the thread below has pictures of recent drink menus from the Norwegian Dawn, should be similar. Main thing is you can have drinks, wine, beer that is 15.00 or less. For pricier drinks you pay the difference http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2434674
Esv104 Posted January 15, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 15, 2017 Has anyone had $17.95 drinks made with a "cheaper" brand to keep price in $15 limit? Is that common at the bars?

trish1c Posted January 16, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 16, 2017 (edited) The wine was whatever they pour by the glass. It was nothing special but it was drinkable. There is a menu but I don't have it. There is some kind of discount on bottles of wine but they are not in the ubp package. The high priced mixed drinks they push are priced that way due to the amount of the alcohol, not just the brands. I was shocked at how many different kinds of things were included & how heavy handed the bartenders were. cmurchake Posted January 17, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 17, 2017 Has anyone had $17.95 drinks made with a "cheaper" brand to keep price in $15 limit? Is that common at the bars? Ordered a patron margarita (under $15 on 1/2016 sailing) as the first drink at O'Sheehans. The waiter came back and told us it was $17 now so we asked for a tequila that would be under the $15 mark. They had no problems with this at all.

hawkeyetlse Posted January 17, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 17, 2017 If you ask for a particular brand of alcohol, they will charge you for that brand, of course. But if you order a generic cocktail like a margarita, and you don't specify what tequila you want, they will pick some brand that costs less than $15. The issue is with some cocktails listed in the menu with a specific super premium alcohol as one of the ingredients, which pushes the price up to $17.95. Some bartenders will reportedly substitute a cheaper brand so you can get the cocktail for free, and some will not.
Rare BostonGal35 Posted January 17, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 17, 2017 there are menus at every bar, consistent around the ship. defintiely check it. there are odd things. For example, i drink grey goose which is on the package. however, only the PLAIN grey goose is on the package. if you want the Orange, Cherry, Pear, etc. that isnt on the package. It has to be an inventory thing, because at the liquor store, the flavors are the same price as the plain. Makes zero sense. I prefer the Cherry or Orange, but i drink plain on board because i refuse to pay additional. i will say, the prosecco that is included is really good. i drink that most nights at the shows/in the casino.
