AOS room 6502 thoughts?

It's our first time on RC and we booked the last bigger ocean view room (family size I think). We have never had a room right up in the front of the ship so I am kind of nervous about it. My boyfriend gets sea sick fairly easily but we wanted a pull out sofa for our daughter since we don't think she can safely maneuver in a pull down bed. I keep looking to see if a different room opens up. So far no luck. Do the regular size ocean view rooms only have pull down beds? The rep I talked to confused me. Also if we end up staying with this room will the exterior wall be slanted taking up the extra room? Any other things I should know about this room? Thank you very much.

There are no forward staterooms on deck 6 of Allure, so you likely don't mean that ship. Same with Anthem. On Adventure this is not a family stateroom but is a large ocean view stateroom with a fold out couch. The walls will be straight but the front wall will have some slant inward - not enough to make a difference, however.

There are other ocean view stateroom with Murphy beds instead. You have to look at the deck plans on the RCI website and refer to the key describing the stateroom. Here is the link to the different ships on the RCI website:

The front of the ship has an interesting view forward but will be most susceptible to the up and down motion of the ship than any other location, so that should be noted. Also the furthest forward location from the restaurants, etc., but closest to the theater, gym, and Solarium by way of the forward elevator banks.

Enjoy your cruise!

We were just on Allure OTS last Dec 4...our cabin was 6532...starboard side...it was great...no up or down motion even in 6ft seas...we had more side to side motion due to the cross winds..

The location was great to spa, theater or casino which we were able to use the stairs...or use the LONG walk down deck 6 when by-passing the crowds on Promenade deck... Also great for embarkation and disembarkion. ..luggage tags were 6 & 11 which meant on and off early...

Very light seas - especially with a ship that size! :D

We were in a family stateroom in the very front on Jewel (much smaller ship) in 25 ft.+ seas - felt that for sure! ;)

Agreed...6ft is nothing for a1188' ship..but the sail surface of a 18 deck ship at that length will rock even with the stabilizers ... the captain stated the max seas he has piloted on AOTS has been 12' which was the maiden voyage when she was luanched.. He stated he would only be concerned if the waves were 30' becuase the life boats would start lifting off the moorings. ..

Great ship and alot to do onboard..

Part of the information from your rep that may be confusing is that RCI staterooms within each category have different configurations to accommodate different passenger requirements. All have a couch, but not all couches are fold out beds. Some have Murphy beds instead, and some have both Murphy beds and fold out couches. In this manner the staterooms can be configured to handle from 2 - 4 passengers.

That is why I suggested using the link provided to go to the individual ship in question and review the deck plans. On each deck plan is a key describing the different stateroom configurations. That may help provide some options for different staterooms that your rep can check for you.
