We don't dock at Labadee until 10 a.m so I have time before the ship wakes up to take photos and so begin to wander.

I was disappointed that the wall of changing lights at left wasn't operating at this time. Also noticed that there was no ADA lift to help wheelchair bound passengers in and out of the water.

There are some play rooms set aside for kids and teens by the forward elevators on deck 14

There were very few kids and teens on this voyage.

Bimmer,

Thank you for continuing your amazing review. I am going to pick up my cruise tickets later today for my upcoming Reflection cruise (sailing March 4...yeah). Your commentary and photos make me feel like I am already there!

The Gym doesn't open until 7 a.m so I was going to come back in an hour when a couple of men walked past and opened the watertight door that was barring entry. One turned to me and asked "Do you want to come in?" so in I went.

Good morning Susan! I'm glad the review is whetting your appetite. March 4 is just around the corner!

I am over in Michigan by the lake where the sun is shining and will be driving back to Chicago soon.

Have a great day and thanks for the compliments!

Loving it, as usual.

I agree with another fan of yours, that reading this wonderful report brings back great memories. Loved this morning's walk through the ship. Nice to see you in the mirrors of the fitness center!

I have more thoughts.

We take a combination of ship's tours, private tours, and just plain old wandering around. One ship's tour we took and enjoyed very much was in Falmouth (our first of only two stops, ever, in Jamaica). We learned about papayas and sugar cane, visited a school, and had a lovely lunch. We planted a papaya! Alas, we'll never know which of the three genders it turned out to be. The restrooms at lunch were also three genders, continuing on the theme. Great sense of humor from the Jamaicans.

I think so far you haven't been on an S class ship with a Chihuly outside the Sky Lounge. That would be a nice subject for a few photos.

Norris, I thank you so very much for posting your wonderful photos and your outstanding personality. Cruise Critic is such a great place, isn't it?

Side note to Carol: sorry you didn't enjoy dinner. Looking forward to another Murano video. I presume it's fun for you to watch them, too?

Still along for the ride, you have convinced me that early rising is a must do at least some of the days of the cruise. Usually I am up early on my Balcony but exploring an empty ship looks like a big treasure hunt!

Bev, I see Song of Norway in your signature. Which year would that have been?

We are major Dale Chihuly fans so maybe I'll see that on Equinox in Jan 2019.

Yes I like CC and read it daily even when I am not writing and surf the boards for info. My only problem is that I can't cruise enough as I work and two is the max until we retire in 5 years or so at the earliest. Then we could take advantage of fare drops and do longer cruises in less expensive cabins. We have 3 cruises booked in advance which is two more than usual so we are not bored or jaded just yet.

My goal for my next cruise is to do the videos justice-I am too busy with big cameras and lenses, especially at the dinner table and I can forget the camcorder. Before I had a DSLR camera I used the camcorder mainly and I need to balance the two better so I may go back to just taking my little point and shoot Canon on buses and at dinner. The camera and lens weigh about 5 lbs and camera shake trying to shoot something in dim lighting just 18 inches away is a problem. I am always learning from my mistakes and that's good.

I'll have a couple of videos from our Labadee day.

Thanks for the comment and the kind compliments!

The Spa was locked so I thought I'd have to take a couple of shots through the glass door

Then I remembered the watertight door ruse and found one that let me into the spa complex. I closed it behind me of course.

Free to roam I did just that....

We sailed our first cruise on the beautiful Song of Norway Valentines week 1989. A tiny cabin with 2 plate sized portholes at the waterline and a very handsome Italian that was head waiter for our section of the dining room, all the ladies were swooning...;)

Thanks Bev. I was just going through some stuff I have in a closet yesterday and found my 1986 RCCL brochure with pricing. I'll try to scan the SON page and include it here at some point. Also some photos I took back in the days of film.

The fancier cabins had a window! No balconies back then. One pool, one restaurant.

Cheers!
