Primary language spoken by crew on Baltic cruise?

I did some searching and couldn't find an answer. Apologies if this has been covered.

What is the primary language the crew will typically speak on Fantasia in the Baltic? I would like to learn a few key phrases ("May I have a coffee, please?" "I'll have whatever you recommend." etc) in case English isn't universally spoken.

I have found reviews that announcements are done in several languages (including English) and that most folks in Scandinavian countries are fluent in English, but I'd like to try to make my communication with the crew as easy as possible.

Thanks in advance!

I am on Fantasia now, cruising the UAE :)

The crew are amazing, friendly and helpful - and multilingual :D

English is no problem at all :)

The only announcements made so far were for the muster drill - and that was over very quickly. The cruise director was amazing - changing easily from one language to another. English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.

This is my first MSC cruise, and I must say I am really enjoying it :D

Darcy, can you tell me if Giuseppe Maresca is still the captain? And who is the cruise director, Jimmy Valentino? Thanks. We'll be boarding in March.

Thanks, Darcy (and everyone else)!

I'll use my time to pore over maps and destination reviews instead of learning phrases for the ship :)

Absolutely!

Though I must admit I quite like being called signorina.........a bit romantic really, whereas 'madam' makes me feel old! :o

Rainy day in Muscat today - wasn't expecting that!
