Port out Posted January 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2017 I wonder if anyone has used Parking4cruises as an alternate to CPS! and if so was it a good experience. Certainly the cost of parking is considerably less and I understand you just drop off your luggage at the terminal, pop the car over to the short stay car park and they take it to a secure care park much as CPS do. Apparently on return you let them know you are disembarking and they are waiting with your car in the car park. Any experiences are welcome. CCFC Posted January 25, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2017 We used them and found them very good. They take pictures of your car before they take it away to stop any disputes over accident damage. I would certainly use them again.
Joy R Posted January 25, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2017 Glad to hear this. We have booked them for our upcoming cruise!
wblee Posted January 25, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2017 Hi We have used them 5 times now and it has always been a good experience and we intend to use them next time, Bill
GP&LK Posted January 25, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 25, 2017 Noticed they are only about £6 cheaper... by the time you ring them before arrival and before you leave the ship is it worth the hassle?
majortom10 Posted January 25, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 25, 2017 We have used them numerous times and always had a very good experience and found to be a lot cheaper than CPS when we have used them but always worth checking a quote price. majortom10 Posted January 25, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 25, 2017 Just checked quotes for my next 14nt cruise- CPS £157, Parking4cruises £109 think that says it all.
GP&LK Posted January 25, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 25, 2017 Must be in the longer Cruises their prices become competitive, for a 7 night I checked for it was only £6 in it. But the saving you had for 14 nights is well worth it! :)
jeanlyon Posted January 25, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 25, 2017 We have used them 4 times. Always good and considerably cheaper than CPS, around £40 for us on a 19 night cruise.
Port out Posted January 26, 2017 Author #10 Share Posted January 26, 2017 All sounds very positive, will give them a go for our next adventure in June. Thanks for the comments team Left out
laticmon Posted January 26, 2017 #11 Share Posted January 26, 2017 Recommend them no problem, drive onto the short stay and after a couple of minutes handover, you are on your way to the terminal ( having already dropped luggage). You can book a provisional time for collection and then confirm as you dock on return. We'd booked the earliest slot and as we left the ship at 0700, the car was there waiting. No delays at all. mercury7289 Posted January 26, 2017 #13 Share Posted January 26, 2017 Do these companies use transporters,to take the cars elsewhere and bring them back as required? For instants somewhere up the M3?

mercury7289 Posted January 26, 2017 #15 Share Posted January 26, 2017 Sorry, I mean at a later stage. My reason for asking is that sat nav wrongly left on, when put away,on last cruise. had Chanderlers Forge as a destination, but not by me, or at any time by me. Seemed strange
jeanlyon Posted January 26, 2017 #16 Share Posted January 26, 2017 The most mileage I have had on my car when I got back is 4.5 miles. They only move them to a secure parking area. Maybe someone played with the Sat Nav.

Maybe someone played with the Sat Nav. That's the sort of mileage others have indicated which suggests the cars are parked somewhere in the port area, rather similar to CPS. mercury7289 Posted January 27, 2017 #18 Share Posted January 27, 2017 Sorry, I think that I may not have got my point over. If the cars are taken away, and later put on a transporter, no mileage will ensue. My sat nav was at the bottom of my central console. This was not possible the company that I used, but the query was a generalisation. My car was collected by the side of the ship. I have no problem with this method if that be the case, just want to fully understand the method.

If your car was on the back of a transporter, why would they want to use your satnav, and don't you think buying a £100,000 transporter is a bit OTT for a car parking firm? mercury7289 Posted January 27, 2017 #20 Share Posted January 27, 2017 I did not say that they had used it, only that it was left on. When I returned to my car,and regained it out of my centre consul,it was energised with that destination. It struck me as strange,so have been considering the various possibilities. Not unhappy either way.

mercury7289 Posted January 27, 2017 #22 Share Posted January 27, 2017 No real reason to,they took it away on arrival, and returned it when disembarked. If they had to take it to a overspill car park in the meantime so be it. Would have just like to have been aware that this could be the case. Every one appears to say: parked within the dock area, may be may be not?
jeanlyon Posted January 27, 2017 #23 Share Posted January 27, 2017 They are parked in the dock area, but its massive, so can do three or four miles.
mercury7289 Posted January 27, 2017 #24 Share Posted January 27, 2017 jeanlyon Sorry I have not mentioned any mileage difference, I do not check it. If my car is there on my return, undamaged then that in my books, is a result. My sat nav suggested it had been on a journey, just wondered how and why. BrianI Posted January 27, 2017 #25 Share Posted January 27, 2017 I understand you have to pay to use the short term car park. Is this paid by the user or is it included in the charge from P4C? Brian
