Breakaway room selection help

I am looking at a Balcony room BC, floor 11 , 13 or 14 Forward or Aft. We are a family of 4 and I would like a room that is close to the action with minimal noise when we are ready to settle in for the night. Also, I dont know which is better for motion the front or the back?

I appreciate any feedback. Thank you

Deck 14 Aft would be right under the buffet and two decks below Spice H2O nightclub, which has been reported to have loud bass thumping in cabins two to three decks below it. So I wouldn't book Aft unless it was down further on deck 11. Forward could have some motion, but the bigger ships are more stable and it probably wouldn't be as noticeable. You could book forward on deck 13 or 11 and aim for one closest to the elevators to minimize walking distances.

If you want to be "close to the action" why would you not be looking at Decks 8 or 9?

We got a BD on 9 near the aft elevators by chance...(initially booked a mini suite and after reading reviews here decided that a bigger bathroom wasn't worth $400) upon further investigation I'm very happy with the location. Hop down the steps to the quieter Moderno breakfast and all of the waterfront, right by the elevators for everything else. You have cabins above and Moderno below closes early enough that it shouldn't be crazy. I also have one prone to motion sickness and the lower deck seems to be a better location for that.

Of course, this is all in theory as I've never been before. I'd be happy to give a review of the location, but we're not going until late March.

No, it's not theory, it's fact. In spite of what cruise lines sales agents tell you, higher decks are not an upgrade, especially if you are prone to motion sickness. The lower the better as well as closer to the center of the ship you will find the least motion. It's amazing how much sway there is on Decks 12, 13 or 14 on a cruise ship, especially when there are high winds.

Plus, it's just two decks down to the Manhattan Room, O'Sheehan's, the casino, the theater and box office.

Good choice.

Thanks for all the great feedback. We dont mind walking steps to get to the action. I was looking at that category because of the price. It was a couple hundred more to change floors or midship room. Just trying to get the best cabin for the money we are willing to spend. I was hoping to land a bigger balcony too!

The BD (where I'm on 9) was the same price as BC when I booked, so if it's something that you're interested in maybe take a peek!

I think I settled on deck 13 and found one angled balcony 13290....I hope its a great choice!

i was in this cabin in december.

loved 2 flights up to buffet. close enough but far enough from elevators.

bigger balcony is better

steward keeps cart outside the room. great for service, you can find him when you want. bad for days you wanna sleep in late on sea days. you can hear him filling the ice for all the rooms. ask for robes 1st say for the long walk to the hot tubs..open until midnite

rooms above and below you means no worries about pool or other noise

spice noise: inside the room you may hear some bass. nothing earthshattering, never kept me up. outside on balcony the music is clear so you can party privately.

tell the steward to leave the bed down all week so the kids can use it during the day when you come back to the room, otherwise he puts it up.

never found out what it was but 1st 2 days people were pouring liquid down on balcony or something. hopefully doesnt happen to you. thats when i found out steward actually cleans balcony. he said he had just cleaned it.

it's a great location for buffet and quick drinks.

warning. if you do self debark. do NOT take the aft elevators down to 7. go forward and come down! you will fight through the casino people if u do what i did

enjoy
