What are the advantages of booking Havana room? Is it only the private pool area? How does that work? I heard it is only until 5:00 then anyone can go there. We are also thinking of Family harbor rooms too.

No kids under 12 are able to be booked in those cabins, and from what I have seen, the Havana pool area is not crowded at all. It opens to the public at 7PM.

there is no poker table in the casino. it is down the hall in the sports bar which i found kind of weird. it was the normal poker pro video style game.

Although I don't play, I definitely saw 2 or 3 poker tables in the tables area behind the bar. That's the 'hold 'em game, right?

We are going on the vista 2017 August and going to Grand Turk, Dominican Republic, Aruba and Curacao we are trying to find out which nights are cruise elegant?

Whats the best night to book the steakhouse?

i am talking about real poker. (texas hold em) where you play against other players and the house takes a rake. i think the rake is 15% on the cruise ship up to a certain amount. if you can call it that without a dealer. on the cruise ships they use the poker pro machines where you sit around the table. in the middle is a screen that shows the community cards and the pot. each player has a screen to look at their 2 cards and the options to play, fold etc buttons.

that is pretty much the advantage the private pool area that was great. the family harbor rooms looked nice i walked by them walking down the hall the day i was disembarking and all the doors were open. the harbor rooms have the community room with breakfast, coffee, ice cream machines, video games, and regular games. these rooms are directly below the galley and that seems like a draw back to me. you will hear noise from the galley early in the morning and all day and into the night.

So did you happen to see any "real" poker games going on (not the Poker Pro ones)?

No. I haven't seen a poker game on carnival with a dealer in a long time. Carnival puts in the machine instead of a dealer. I'm guessing to save money on not paying some one to deal. The table looked full every night. But it seemed to be the same people playing every night

We have a pretty avid poker player in our group and they really hate the Poker Pro tables. Haven't seen a live dealer myself on any ships either. It's a shame. I bet they would have even more people playing. They should pull one of the dealers from one of the other games that no one plays (not sure exactly what they are, but I constantly see no one at numerous tables every night) and get a proper card game going. Too bad [emoji853].

My daughter and I absolutely loved the build a bear at sea on the Visa. Highly recommend it if you only build the bear it was $30 but we dressed ours so each was $50 a great souvenir & bonding also on Sea days arts and crafts in the library we made journals and it was no extra charge that was fun as well.

How busy was the Havana pool area on sea days? Was it hard to get chairs??

Thanks.

Not busy at all. Had our choice of a chair, a lounger, or table. With the 2 large hot tubs and a pool we had no problems getting in the hot tub or pool. On our cruise on sea days there was maybe 12 people around the pool and hot tubs. There were some people around the side of the deck laying out. It was a great area. It made the cruise a totally different cruise then if you didn't have a Havana room. There is also a towel stand so you don't have to bring a towel.

just off the vista i will try to answer any questions. i stayed in a Havana interior room number 5214. ate at the steakhouse, ji ji asian kitchen, bonsai sushi, and cucina italian. also did the thrill theater which was great. we did the 6 day Jamaica, grand Cayman, Cozumel itinerary.

I saw a photo someone had taken on the Vista some time ago, it was a be beachy background. Do you know when this setting was available, perhaps the first day? And if so, where can we find it? My husband and I did a casual background very similar to that about 12 years ago, I'd love a current one.

Thanks

On an 8 night cruise the dress up nights are usually two and seven. The best night for the steakhouse is the last night, can't think of a better way to end 8 great days. Excursions.... Grand Turk is a beach day and pool day right at the pier. Large pool at Margaritaville, also conch shell graveyard off to the right before you enter the complex. Have not been to Curacao and DR before, but am considering the same cruise you're going on 1 year later on 8/25/18. Aruba.....favorite port over my 29 cruises. Last time there we had 4 of us in a rented jeep and we explored the area on our own.

Thank you!

We're the cabin safes PIN numbers or cards? If cards, would old gift cards or hotel key cards work?

I'm in one of the Havana balcony cabins. I'm told there's a breakfast buffet there?!

I have seen videos and the safes are keypad style. All the newer ships have them. But for the ships that have the magnetic strip ones, any card with a mag strip on the back such as the ones you mention will be fine.

I always bring a few old gift cards with in case one wears out which I have had happen a few cruises ago. I will still bring some on my Vista cruise to put into the light switch contraption so I don't have to use my S&S card or fold a piece of paper to stick in there.

Pin#. Not Sure about breakfast buffet we usually slept in late on sea days. On port days I know they had a breakfast buffet set up where the taste bar is. It is on deck 5 around the corner from the coffee bar. There is a stage and dance floor and tables. They had the buffet there on port days. It was definitely convenient before getting off the ship.

This is wonderful to hear. Thank you so much. We sail in the Haven on NCL and thought this new feature on Vista, although not Haven, would have an exclusive feel to it and not have to worry about searching for chairs and a quite place to relax. We booked a Havana Cabana suite for next year, already purchased the Cheers package and we are set LOL

Did you use the gym? Were there showers available or did you need a spa pass to use the showers? If you used the gym, was there an updated rowing machine (the kind with water and not a chain)? How were the treadmills? I'll get out between 7 am - 8 am for a run and workout and if you went around these times, were you able to get a treadmill?

Thanks so much!

Hi there, we are cruising with 3-year-old twins in a month. How is anytime dining early? we usually eat around 5:30/ 6 PM so early... Just wondering some people said there is always a wait. Thanks

I only went to the dining room once and I waited 30 minutes. On vista you have to check in on deck 5 next to coffee bar. I would go as soon as they open every night and maybe there won't be a wait
