Fear Not Silhouette.

I am currently aboard Silhouette on a 7 day rt Fort Lauderdale. We haven't sailed Celebrity since March 2015 (Reflection) for various reasons not related to X. Since 2015 we have cruised Disney, RCCL Allure, Carnival and MSC Divina. Reading the Celebrity posts caused me minor concerns due to many negative reviews.

We arrived in Fort Lauderdale Sunday morning dodging the Delta IT problems. Uber to Port Everglades (more on that later) in the rain. It did not dampen the spirits of our group of 8 seasoned cruisers.

Boarding was fast and we went to the Sunset Bar for an adult beverage. Love the premium package.

Cabins were ready early .

I will continue as we cruise. More soon. [emoji572]

I failed to mention the champagne greeting as we came aboard. Another plus for X.

The cabin was as I remembered. Very nice and clean.

Off to the MDR to see if the table we requested was confirmed. Call me high maintenance but on Eclipse previously we loved a particular table location. After a small amount of confusion we were set. [emoji41]

So far the staff have been nothing but spot on.

We returned to the Sunset Bar after the muster drill [emoji35] only to find Ansel, one of our favorite bartenders from the Sunset Bar on Reflection. Great seeing familiar faces.

We LOVED Ansel! He is such a crack up! Especially when paired with his "straight man" Oneil...

Dinner on day one was in the MDR. Our team was very attentive. My prime rib was rare as ordered. Escargot was good. Entire party enjoyed the food.

After dinner we went to the Martini Bar (always busy). If you like martinis get the premium package. Drink prices are $$$ so if you are even a moderate drinker the packages make sense.

Ordered lite room service before going to bed. We ARE on vacation [emoji41]

Day two -

Went to the MDR for breakfast. I enjoy the relaxed pace vs. the Ocean View. They always have Eggs Benedict and another fav Smoked Salmon.

Time for the Cruise Critic Meet. It was held in Cellarmasters. I estimate 40 to 50 attended. Captain Dimitrios (Kafetzis) was there with most of the Senior Officers and CD Sara.

The Captain has a great sense of humor. His daily update from the bridge is a hoot. They could take a que from MSC. After short remarks...meeting over. No mingle to chat with the Staff. On MSC Divina in October the Staff chatted with us CCr's which was much more personal.

It was very cloudy early but by noon the sun arrived and we enjoyed most of the afternoon (Sea Day) at the pool. Love the S class pools. Not crowded and plenty of loungers. Cocktail service was spotty initially but a few $$ changed that.

We had a lite lunch in the Oceanview Cafe. Good selection - Nice Salad Bar. Again, not crowded and plenty of seating. Beverage service was prompt.

So far the Staff has been very friendly with an "aim to please" attitude.

Our group had dinner in the Lawn Club Grill. It is not to be missed. I had done LCG on Reflection a few times and was very happy that as before the experience was SPOT ON. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Too much food [emoji41]

I wii get to the questions some have asked but for now "OUT"

Coming next.... San Juan and Zip Lining in the dark.

Hi,

Just wondering how you liked MSC? Our TA told me that she didn't think we would like MSC after having been on a good many Celebrity cruises?

We liked MSC. Divina is a beautiful ship. You will never sail on a better maintained ship. Spotless. We had an aft balcony on deck 12. Huge balcony. Keep in mind that MSC is Italian. Nothing wrong with that. Our cabin was very nice. Food was good. We had already booked Seaside for early 2018 thinking that if we didn't like Divina we would just cancel. NOT ! We are looking forward to Seaside. Any questions... just ask [emoji572][emoji572]

San Juan -

Silhouette arrives at 3pm which makes for a brief port of call. Entering the port is a not to be missed. It is one of the most scenic ports. Go to deck 15 for the best view.

We began the day with room service breakfast and then enjoyed the sun at the pool before arriving in Old San Juan.

Had a burger at the Mast Grill, one deck above the pool. Just a basic burger and fries. Both need improvement.

In San Juan our group did what they wanted. Two went on the Zip Lining in the dark and returned with a great tale.

Two ventured out for authentic local food which they really liked.

Later we all met in the disco for Silent Disco. First time I have seen it. They give you wireless headphones that have three different styles of music. Latin, current etc. The room is quiet as you watch people dance. Hard to explain but much fun.

The Tenors of Rock were excellent as was the comedian.

Later the casino was a ghost town. Maybe because everyone had already lost all their money [emoji41]
