Harvest Caye problem Feb 1?

The people there were adamantly opposed to this build. The local news reports are interesting. Perphaps there was an obstruction that was created by those very people who did not want this to begin with, perhaps there was no obstucion at all...perhaps it was just a one-off anomaly. It will be intesting to see what happens going forward.

Just sharing something I found. Also strange to have a crew from Miami clear a channel in Belize. Is that normal? Did American crews build harvest caye? Something possibly seems strange.

Well good news! TheOceana Marina docked in Harvest Caye today. There is some info in this thread on the Oceana boards. Specifically #56.

 

Hopefully, the NCL ships will be back this week.

The marina is a much smaller ship. But, in the end it will be about draft. I think the real test will be Wednesday when the Getaway is scheduled to dock. I guess we will see.

We were on the Dawn last week and were diverted to Belize City :( My second attempt to visit Harvest Caye. SOO disappointed. Many people stayed on board, myself included. We were also told 'obstruction in harbor'

Just got off the NCL Getaway Today, and the cruise ship was able to dock in Harvest Caye. Had clear skies and sunny weather. They did a fantastic job on this Private Island! Looking forward to going back again! Main reason we booked that ship to try out their new island; was unfortunate that the cruise prior to ours wasn't able to Dock due to "an obstruction" would've definitely enjoyed it!! Tried asking around what the problem was but the crew/staff didnt seem to know themselves.
