brookie848 Posted February 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2017 We just booked a cruise that originates in San Juan (Dawn Southern Caribbean in November). Can anyone tells me what pier NCL uses if your cruise starts and ends in San Juan? I see there are different ports and the ones in Old San Juan are used mainly for day visitors, with ships embarking from San Juan at the other ports. I've done some searching, but I can't find a site that gives me the port/pier name where ships are docking. But if someone has that information, I'd be glad to look it up myself! I'm trying to make the most logical hotel decision based on the port location. If anyone has any suggestions to share, I'd appreciate them. chefrubba Posted February 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2017 I cruised on the Gem out of San Juan this past November. The ship left from The Pan American Pier. We stayed at the Sheraton Old San Juan which is located directly across from the Old San Juan Piers. It was about a 10 minute cab ride to the Pan American Pier about $20 with tip. There was a Sheraton close to the Pan American Pier but you would have to taxi back to Old San Juan. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

dexddd Posted February 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2017 They've used both the ones in Old San Juan as well as Pan American. Maybe try one of those cruise timetable websites. I don't recall if it ever showed up on our cruise docs for the Gem which went out of PA.
New2cruise1483 Posted February 4, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 4, 2017 On our cruise out of there on the Gem in November, we embarked at the Pan American pier. However, I highly recommend staying at the Sheraton in Old San Juan before your cruise. It was conveniently located within walking distance of most everything yet you would want to see in OSJ (shops, forts etc.), and since the ship will leave later in the day, it will provide a great opportunity to explore. Also, the Sheraton offers a luggage hold, so you don't have to schlep your bags around. Happy cruising! You will LOVE that itinerary :D.
