moran4carnival Posted February 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2017 Hello, This will be our first time going to St. Kitts. Does anyone have any info on what to do here... Is there a best beach? What excursion would be fun? Shopping? Is there a Fort to go to? Any information would be great. Thank you :)

OCruisers Posted February 3, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2017 These two are good and offered by almost all of the mass market cruise lines: Sailing Catamaran from St. Kitts to Nevis. Seeing the island on the Sugar Train Enjoy! :)
hishorselover Posted February 4, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2017 Brimstone Hill Fortress is a nice stop. Check out Thenfordgreytours.com. We are considering booking with them for their Grand Island Tour. I don't know anything about them though.

DireMongoose Posted February 13, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 13, 2017 If you're in good shape, the volcano hike excursion is a one of a kind experience. It was amazing but probably the physically hardest thing I've done in my life.
teknoge3k Posted February 16, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 16, 2017 Have not done it yet as we won't be there until May, but we're using Pereira Tours there. Liz was fantastic to work with and had lots of great reviews on TA and here as well.
toes_in_sand Posted February 17, 2017 #9 Share Posted February 17, 2017 We did a food tour last time we were there. The food stops were awesome and the views were incredible. We are heading back to St Kitts in the fall and will do another food adventure. We used St Kitts Food Tours. A Canadian does the tours, so easy to understand and she offers tours that are different from the typical island tours.

He provides an awesome tour and it is a great way to see the highlights of this beautiful island for a first timer. And the stop at Brimstone Hill Fortress is spectacular. baileybrad Posted February 23, 2017 #11 Share Posted February 23, 2017 Brimstone Hill Fortress is a nice stop. Check out Thenfordgreytours.com. We are considering booking with them for their Grand Island Tour. I don't know anything about them though. Mr.Grey's Grand Island Tour was one of the best "book your own tours" that we have ever done. There were 5 of us and our 3 teenage sons loved it as did we. It is neck and neck with Bernard's Tour that we have done on StMarteen a couple of times. Again, we highly recommend our experience with Mr.Grey, who personally conducted our tour. There were about 12 of us in an over-sized van. Plenty of room and lots of cold water. We are headed to St.Kitts this summer and toyed with doing the tour again but since it has only been about 18 months....we are going to pass on a repeat. AAAAmerican Posted February 25, 2017 #12 Share Posted February 25, 2017 On St. & Nevis , so - so many things to do. The Sugar Cane Train is a must! Family friendly and IMHO worth it. On beaches too they do have a trip with beaches etc.. and that wonderful Train.

Thrilled2012 Posted February 26, 2017 #15 Share Posted February 26, 2017 The beach at Shipwreck has a rustic feel with black sand beach. And you can walk down to Carombola Beach which is a more "traditional" beach (or you could do it in reverse and park yourself at Carambola and walk to Shipwreck). Lunch at shipwreck is well priced. Ocean Boy Posted February 26, 2017 #17 Share Posted February 26, 2017 I don't think I would recommend the train for a first visit to St. Kitts. You see a lot of back country from the train but not a lot of the island highlights. And you don't get to go to the Brimstone Fortress. I do think the train is a nice experience for a subsequent trip to the island though I also think it is over priced.
