Can you snorkel with turtles on your own ?

You can, but that is a LONG swim from the shore out to where the turtles are. I tried it and gave up, went back in and took the boat tour (it was not included in the Boatyard package when we were there). Your call!

I'd book a snorkel tour privately. There are some good catamaran trips as well as others. Due to rough weather the week before we arrived in Jan. we had to go to a couple other less known spots to find a couple turtles. Snorkeling wasn't clear water either. Let someone who knows the conditions take you to the best spots.

It's too far out with a lot of boats around. I paid a couple of guys on the beach $60.for 2 hours to.take 4 of us out in 2015. And they knew where the turtles were. You won't.

Totally agree! So worth it to have someone take you!
