If it turns out not to be a beach day, you can put together an easy walk, about two miles round trip, covering the waterfront south of the cruise port (pass by the Midway and Seward Johnson's "Unconditional Surrender" statue (alternately called The Kiss or the Kissing statue) and on to Seaport Village, and then on to the children's museum.

If you want to add on the Gaslamp Quarter and Petco Park that would only add another mile to your walk.

Petco Park is in the Gaslamp Quarter, which is the opposite direction from the cruise port from Old Town (which is north of the airport). It's a beautiful baseball park, even better if you happen to be there on a game day as tickets are relatively inexpensive (at least compared to the Yankees).

Actually Petco is in East Village. The Gaslamp Quarter is on 4th, 5th and 6th streets.

There is a great public park inside Petco Park that is open every day there isn't a baseball game.
