Golden Princess in Akaroa today What's the white stuff on the hills?

I see on Golden's bridge cam this morning "White stuff",which looks like snow on the hills in Akaroa. The temperature isn't cold enough though. Can anyone shed some light?

It's probably pale gold. The grasses on the hills dry out in summer and therefore you get a strong contrast with the darker NZ trees.

This photo was taken from the Giant's House at Akaroa in December 2014. The hills were quite green then but at this time of year the grasses would be golden.

I have noticed that before and commented on it. I think it must be a trick of the light from the bridge cam. Heres a couple of shots from a bit later on today..

The bridge cams don't have very good colour resolution at the best of times. :rolleyes: :D

Thanks for that. Realistically I knew it couldn't be snow, but it sure looked like it.

We have had this discussion before due to a photo or web shot a few years ago, we speculated that a fire had gone through and what we saw was ash but it turned out to be the grass.

Golden Princess bridge cam leaves a lot to be desired. Today they are in Wellington and the view is very blurry and indistinct.

Does it need a clean or is the lens warped.
