zwg509 Posted February 5, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 5, 2017 Hey all, I recently sent in a price protection form that was approved. I have an ocean view room booked which dropped about $40 per person on Carnival's website which prompted the form submission. I was expecting my total price to drop by $80 but to my surprise it dropped $220 total. Has this happened to anyone before? My room is still the same number as when I first booked so they didn't change any of that. I can't even book a room as cheap as this drop made it now. It just seems a little too good to be true to me. Thank you!

riffatsea Posted February 6, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2017 Just be happy!! BTW you don't really have to send in a form. You can just call the Carnival phone number and get the price drop immediately.

ray98 Posted February 6, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2017 It is luck of the draw. Seems like a few times a month a cruise will bottom out in price because of slow sales even when other weeks are stable. I usually seek those cruises out when we are booking. If you happen to be previously booked on one of those sailings you can get some deep discounts.
Freckle53 Posted February 6, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 6, 2017 Maybe the port fees decreased also?
Midship Posted February 6, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 6, 2017 if I have a travel agent, can I submit my own price protection form???
bury me at sea Posted February 6, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 6, 2017 if I have a travel agent, can I submit my own price protection form??? It is my understanding your TA must make the request. The TA owns the booking and a price increase or decrease also increases or decreases the TA's commission.
riffatsea Posted February 6, 2017 #9 Share Posted February 6, 2017 Your TA needs to call not you!
