Yellow Fever in Brazil

I'm a mosquito magnet too, and in over 2 decades of regular, long-term travel to wide areas of Brazil, I have never come down with ANY mosquito-borne disease there., some of which have no preventative shots. I do have the shots that are available.

Take spray if you think you'll need it.

Get the yellow fever vaccine if you can. Consider it as a 'cost of doing business', like a passport or visa or travel insurance.

There are 2 reasons to do so.

1) to protect yourself

2) to be allowed entry into certain countries after being in another that has an outbreak

We are taking an Amazon cruise out of San Juan end of this year. I will be getting the Yellow Fever vaccine in the near future....my husband had one years ago so should be okay.

Also Malaria medication.....and yes, spray, as well as loose covering clothing that breathes......I just hate taking Malaria medication.....but not worth the risk.
