zdcatc12 Posted February 10, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2017 Just curious where you saw it referred to as Port Orlando?
Capt_BJ Posted February 10, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 10, 2017 at least one cruise line lists it that way and this has become something of a local argument locally the airport has started referring to itself as Orlando Melbourne International and the Orlando Airport folks are all up in arms. However they have NO problem with Orlando Sanford International ..... welcome to Florida - the rules are different here or is today's term: Alternate Facts? Grant2000 Posted February 10, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 10, 2017 Port Canaveral is just near the Kennedy Space Center. It's a fabulous place to visit if you haven't been to this area of Florida before. http://cruiseports.ca/america/port-canaveral.html

However they have NO problem with Orlando Sanford International ..... welcome to Florida - the rules are different here or is today's term: Alternate Facts? I grew up in Titusville, so I know. I remember when Space Coast Airport was TiCo, Sanford was still a Navy base and seeing B-52s on the ramp at McCoy. I just don't remember ever seeing Port Canaveral ever being called "Port Orlando"
