Aft wrap too much for 2 people?

I booked an aft-wrap for my wife and I on a 14-day January 2019 cruise to Hawaii. Part of us is really excited about this room, the other part wants to save $500 and book an aft-extended right next door. Is the aft-wrap too big for 2 people? The only reason we are considering staying with this room is that we will have so many sea days and it would be a great place to stretch out and relax.

This will be our first aft-wrap.

We've had an aft wrap on the Legend (three of us) and while we thought it was really cool having all that private outdoor deck space, we didn't use it as much as we thought we might. We enjoy being out and about on the ship and in the more public places so we weren't on the balcony much. We don't regret doing it at all and would probably do it again for some place like Alaska where you have lots of scenery to take in. I guess it depends on how much you would really use it and it sounds like you prefer the private balcony space over the public areas of the ship so maybe give it a try. :)

We love the aft wraps on the Spirit-class ships (Pride specifically) and most of the cabins only hold two people. So...no, the aft wraps are perfect for two people and offer more flexibility for positioning loungers than the aft-extended balconies.

It's big, but not too big ;). Some have said the aft extendeds can get a little warm because they don't have much shade. With the wrap, you can move to the covered side portion of the balcony if the rear area gets too hot. We booked at 3rd wrap on the Glory this May. A regular balcony is fine, but if that wrap is available at booking...it's mine!! :)

Happy cruising to you!!!

Thank you. I guess I'm excited to actually get one for a change. They are usually sold out by the time we get around to booking a cruise. This sailing just opened up and we decided to snag one right away. I think it will be nice being able to just go down to the cabin where both of us can stretch out and get some sun, instead of fighting for a chair on deck. Went with a TA for the booking who saved us some money from Carnival's price as well.

You are most welcome. I hope you enjoy that cabin to the fullest and also Hawaii - our last cruise was to Hawaii and it was great. ;)

I don't know what deck you are on, but we had the deck 8 aft wraps 6x on spirit class ships and the cabin had the seperate rooms and for this alone I would book that cabin. The balcony itself is the added bonus. Yes, it is "kind of" big, but as you said, they are usually booked immediately and if you are lucky enough to have one, KEEP it and ENJOY! You are going to be spoiled forever! ;)

You'll LOVE it. We booked our 1st one last year on the Sunshine (8328) for 3 of us, but most of the time it was just me and my husband as our son was out and about. This year, we have both of our kids coming, and my husband and I have one again (Sunshine, as well...but this time 7325) all to ourselves. Great way to beat the noise of the lido deck! We loved it and are officially spoiled. Enjoy!

Just a thought, my DH and I went on the Hawaii cruise 3 years ago in October. We had a suite, and on the 5 days at sea going over and the 5 coming back we never used our balcony. It was way to cool. We left out of LA. I wish now we had not wasted the money.

I must have SPIRIT on the brain because I thought you were sailing that class ship which has that awesome cabin for the aft wraps. Those are the cabins we were in and the configuration of the balcony was a bit different with the "big part" of the balcony aft and the smaller area on the port side. Your balcony is mainly port. WHATEVER, it's a great deal as everyone has said! And yes, sometimes when there is a port intensive cruise you do not spend as much time as you normally would on your balcony, but the experience of having it and again, hard to catch one available! We were always in cabin 8268, same location as yours. I LOVED walking right up or down the stairs to Lido deck. I would get up early in the morning and get some coffee and goodies and bring them down and watch the sunrise on the balcony. :) No need to wait for room service! (but they had trays back in the day....) We never had ANY issues with noise, things "landing" on our balcony, etc. that some people have mentioned in the past. You will LOVE it and BE SPOILED FOREVER. Have a BLAST!

Just a reminder, aft wraps on Spirit class ships are vista suites, compared to the rest which are 9c balconies.

Just thought I'd mention this!;)

I KNOW! Way back in 2003 we had our first aft wrap on the Spirit. This was before most of these forums, etc. and DH didn't know the difference and when he called to book the cruise, the CCL agent he got on the phone mentioned it's a "great cabin" so DH booked it. It was the SAME PRICE as a REGULAR balcony back then. Boy oh boy were we super duper surprised when we opened that cabin door! I swear, I would retire and live in that cabin forever! So over the years CCL wised up and started charging $$ for those cabins and upgraded them, which of course, they should, but I dream of that lst time I walked into that cabin and onto that balcony and the $ we paid! :p:D;) As they say, the good old days! :) OP, have a GREAT cruise!

Thanks everyone. I think we'll stay put and enjoy the balcony. My wife and I are not gamblers, so the casino doesn't appeal to us. Far too smokey for us anyway. The shops either have extremely cheap merchandise (i.e. wear once or twice and discard after it breaks or turns colors) or is far too expensive. Although, I do try to purchase a souvenir coffee cup on each cruise.

We like to just walk the ship, get some exercise and participate in some fun activities like bidding in art auctions for stuff you would never buy back home, (I blame the free champagne on that). How much of your artwork is still in a tube!!!

Going back and knowing both of us can stretch out or play shuffleboard (kidding) on that big balcony will be very nice.

OMG! Not at all. Just make sure you get the ones on deck 4. All the other decks you lose too much space due to the extreme angle of the rail.

The only time we have had one was on the Triumph a few years ago and we loved it!! Even though it was just a 4-day cruise to Cozumel it is still at the very top of the best cruises we have been on and largely due to that balcony. It was the most relaxing cruise yet as it seemed like we had the ship to ourselves. It was so quiet and due to the balcony being so big we couldn't see our neighbors. One night as we were laying under the stars listening to the ocean's wake and looking at the stars my husband said...it feels like we are on our own yacht! That is exactly what it felt like to us. We have finally been able to score another one on the Valor for May 11th to Cozumel and my husband surprised me with the Vista Suite (aft-wrap) on the Legend to Alaska in July 2018 for our 10th wedding anniversary. I can hardly wait!! Keep the cabin believe me it will be worth it.
