Norwegian Star Eastern Mediterranean Shore Excursions

Multigeneration family of 10 booked on 7 day Norwegian Star, June 4 sailing out of Venice. All family members very mobile. Ports are Dubrovnik, Kotor, Olympia, Athens & Split (Croatia). Which ports would you recommend hiring a private tour guide for shore excursions and if so, who do you recommend? Any information would much appreciated.

I am going on the 08/27 sailing to the same ports. Here is what my planned excursions are:

Dubrovnik - Take ferry out to Island of Lupud and visit Sunj beach; then tour old city in the afternoon when we return

Kotor - Plan on visiting one of the beaches to the south of Kotor; just taking a taxi. There are some neat shops there and lots of watersports to take part in

Olympia - Take a taxi to take us to Olympia, winery, honey farm and possibly to the beach on the way back

Athens - I hired a local guide that will take us to all of sites, including Sounion.

Split - Possibly taking a speed boat out to the islands for snorkeling and shopping

 

There are some food tours that look interesting in the different places. If you want more info on what my excursions are, let me know and i can pass along the info to you.

All kinds of information are to be found for excursions on the PORTS OF CALL boards!! Most of your ports will be found under the Europe forum, I think Greece might have its own board. You won't believe the information you'll find over there! Its a great tool, use it.
