I won their Valentine's day competition for a week's caribbean cruise on Oasis in 10 weeks time. I'm literally still reeling from the news and my luck (I found out yesterday and still waiting for it to sink in!)

Anyone got suggestions for their favourite excursions in Nassau, Charlotte Amelie and Phillipsburg? So much planning to do and so little time to do it in!!

Congrats! Here are my favorite things to do in these ports.

Nassau - walk around downtown (literally steps from the ship), shop at local shops (love John Bull), then walk to the Queen's Staircase. You can hire a local guide right off the ship to give you a tour of downtown and even walk to the staircase and nearby fort for a nominal amount. Alternatively, hop in a cab and go to Atlantis. Good shopping (pricy), restaurants, and casino. If you want to go all out, you could get an all access pass to Atlantis to do the waterpark and use the beach, but this requires a substantial amount of time to make the $$$ worth it to me.

St. Thomas - book a ship excursion to St. John. This is the most beautiful island. Or take an island tour of St. Thomas with a stop at Megan's Bay.

St. Martin - another toss up. Take the water taxi to downtown and shop. Great Belgian chocolate shop and nice restaurants. But I highly recommend a tour that includes a stop at the beach near the airport, so you can watch the planes come in. If you want, you can hang on to the fence and feel the power of those jet engines. It is quite a thrill.

Enjoy your free cruise on the Oasis!

LOVE LOVE LOVE OASIS! Have you been on her before? So jealous. We are booked on summer 2018 cruise that hasn't even been open to public yet, but we are with a tour. It's been since 2014 and I cannot wait to see her again. Love the Boardwalk Balcony's so different than any other ship. Have a great time.

Congratulations Pat&Liz! I concur with the suggestion to book an excursion to nearby St. John. Lovely island, I spent three weeks there years ago and have been back a few times since. You'll find some of the world's most beautiful beaches. You may enjoy a catamaran/snorkeling excursion.

Thank you all - This will be my first time on Oasis. I'm interested to see how she measures up to Freedom and Liberty. My hubby has held the opinion since Oasis was built that she is too big, but I have been keen to sail on her!

I will look into St. John as that appears to be a popular excursion. I'd like to swim with dolphins if possible, though I'd prefer a wild swim. Not sure if there are any of those available though.

Wow, was this a RCCL competition? What did you have to do for it?

Yes - Run through the RCCL facebook page, for Valentines Day. I had to tag my partner and say what sort of person he was (out of Aquatic adventurer, Adrenaline Junkie and Sight Seeker).

I wrote: "my husband of almost 10 years is definitely an Aquatic Adventurer. We met through the Kayaking club at university, and took our honeymoon onboard Freedom of the Seas in 2007. It would be beyond amazing to win this trip!! :) xx"

So really, not a huge amount to win such an amazing prize. There were 2,377 comments so to be the one person chosen is really mind-blowing. I've had people asking me for lottery numbers all day at work, which is kinda amusing as I must have used up a life-time's luck in winning this!

Is that the America's Cup yacht racing one? We've done quite a bit of sailing before (including sailing round the Isle of Wight in a regatta!) as my father-in-law and brother-in-law are sailors. Great fun. I'll definitely consider that as an option!

You would likely have to choose between St. John and dolphins, but there are two excursions offered at Tortola: Tortola Dolphin Encounter (STM5) and Tortola Dolphin Swim Adventure (STI5). You can google 'tortola dolphin encounter reviews', check out tripadvisor, and the Tortola forum for discussion: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=290. Enjoy your cruise!

St. Thomas: Secret Sands beach excursion is wonderful. Free drinks and a secluded, beautiful, clean beach.

St. Marteen: Tall ship adventure on the tall ship the Mercedes - it is informative, relaxing and fun. We have done it twice now because we enjoyed it so much the first time.
