Has anyone gone on this cruise? We are wondering how they do the Holy Land tour as it seems they don't return to the ship. We are goin on this cruise in November. Would like to hear from you. Thanks:cool:

All tours include a return to the ship even if it isn't specifically stated in the description.

We had already been to both Rome and Athens, and took this cruise to visit the Holy Land. The included tours are quite good, especially in Israel. On the one day without a tour we took the extra to Cesarea and Tel Aviv, and had lunch at an intersting Arab restaurant in Jaffa. Loved the hummus and pitas with chicken amd lamb on skewers. My husband isn't a lover of ancient history, so we saw the smaller Islands on our own. As Canadians, we pay a premium for any of these cruises, so are very careful about our add-ons.

If you have never sailed with Viking Oceans you will love it. We enjoyed it so much we're going to the Amazon in December 2017.

We’ve been on over 50 cruises around the world. This trip was wonderful. Very few sea days & we opted for the 4 day extension in Athens! We can’t say enough wonderful things about this itinerary! And yes, do pay for the land tour to the Holyland!! It is so worth it!! We originally were in a junior penthouse suite, but were offered an upgrade to explorers suite for extra $$, and it was worth it. We’re loyal Holland America cruisers, staying in their Neptune suites. Like you, had done Viking river & love them & Viking ocean has it so together!! The restaurant options were wonderful!! If you cruise for ship entertainment.....this isn’t the line for you. Be glad to answer any questions.....

We are looking this itinerary for 2019 - any comments? Looks like its a very limited sailing.

This is our first Ocean cruise ( although we have been on 2 V river cruises on the Danube and Rhine)

Thanks!

Loved the Holy Land. Only took one optional excursion....to Tel Aviv and Jaffa and it was excellent. The included trip to Jerusalem was very good as was the one in Haifa. We also enjoyed the islands, and the fact that tourist season was over was a plus.
