If two guests are sailing, and there is a C&A balcony discount, then the 60% off the 2nd passenger comes out better than the 30% off the first two guests. Assuming the fake base price does not change.

Why (how does Royal calculate this)? We will be eligible for the C&A balcony discount after our upcoming cruise.

Royal subtracts the balcony discount from the first passenger and then applies the 30% off. If they did it in the reverse order, you would get a lower price because they would be taking 30% off a larger number.

As I thought, the new sale for a cruise I'm contemplating was 0.011% different in price than the previous sale.

I ended up "holding" my cabin last night for 24 hours by calling RC and just put down the deposit this morning and the price went down $100. I was terrified of booking last night in fear of what deal would be today :)

Yep instead of 60% off the 2nd pax it's now 30% off all and since we are only 2 it's the same thing.

 

Instead of getting our $100 discount for platinum it is negated by the $100 instant savings so basically the same exact pricing.

 

They didn't put much thought into this non sale.

 

Next one will be 20% off the first and 40% off the 2nd pax.:p
