Do the people that work on the private islands live there?

Most have a couple staff that live there 24/7. But the vast majority of workers that aren't from the ship commute from nearby communities or islands.

And many of them are just the first folks off of the boat who set things up for the passengers.

Captain Albert discussed Half Moon Cay in his February 26, 2017 blog post.

 

The watersports, shops and other activities are staffed by local Bahamians under the direction of the island manager. Most of these staff live on Eleuthera and come over in the morning with the Half Moon Clipper.
