NCL- 10yo self sign out

Can anyone confirm the process for kids being able to sign themselves in/out on NCL? The last time we were on NCL, my daughter was 7, so it wasn't something I even thought about.

On their website, it says that kids 10-12 can sign themselves out if it's 2 hours after being signed in. Otherwise, the parent needs to come sign. I assume this is to prevent kids from just going in and out a whole bunch? My kiddo won't abuse the privilege, but will likely not want to stay 2 hours every time. Does anyone know if they strictly enforce this policy? And can they sign themselves in as well? Or do the parents have to do that?

Also, when we were on RCI last year, my daughter was able to sign for her younger brother. He never chooses to use the kids area, but the option is nice to have. Is that the same on NCL?

We (and she!) really enjoyed the freedom to come and go on her own on the Explorer OTS. We may just wait a couple more years to go back on NCL. I assume once they are 13 they have more freedom?

Once they are 13 they have complete freedom to come and go at will. On our last cruise the youngest were 10, 10 and 12. We told them we'd come back in an hour and let them out if they wanted. They looked like they were having fun, but they wanted to leave (a downside of having kids close in age who get along great, no need to try and make new friends).
