where to next? Posted March 5, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2017 Hi can anyone tell me what toiletries are in cabin bathrooms please. We are in standard balcony cabin on Fantasia in two weeks. Moobaby214 Posted March 6, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2017 To tag onto your question, I am curious what the Aurea Suites have as standard toiletries. Anyone know?
1fifthavenue Posted March 6, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 6, 2017 In a standard Bella or Fantastica cabin the toiletries are basic, hand pump soap, shower gel and shampoo. I think in Aurea suites they are better but can't be 100% sure. We always take our own shampoo and body lotion.
where to next? Posted March 6, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted March 6, 2017 No body lotion in bathroom then? Sent from my SM-J500FN using Forums mobile app
1fifthavenue Posted March 6, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 6, 2017 Afraid not, just shampoo, shower gel and soap... Maybe buy a bottle of Nivea or similar at the airport Boots, therefore saving luggage weight, not much more expensive than on the High St?
1fifthavenue Posted March 6, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 6, 2017 just checked and you can do click and collect at Boots airside stores - available at most terminals :) Just saved myself luggage weight

I have plenty of luggage allowance and take my own toiletries unless something more luxurious is supplied. 1fifthavenue Posted March 6, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 6, 2017 We usually take a host of Elemis products. Unfortunately this is one of the areas MSC do seem to scrimp on compared to other lines, but for the difference in price it's not too much of a hassle
stealthy Posted March 6, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 6, 2017 This is what you get in YC. Not sure about the other cabins.

lisamarieh Posted March 8, 2017 #13 Share Posted March 8, 2017 We sailed in an Aurea suite on the Divina in December. The bathroom had one small round bar of hand soap and the typical shampoo and body wash in the pumps in the shower. No extra toiletries.

MJC Posted November 27, 2019 #16 Share Posted November 27, 2019 I'd like to know if Fantasia has separate shampoo and conditioner dispensers, or just shampoo, or one of those combined products. I usually bring my own conditioner, but if it is a combined product I will have to bring shampoo as well.
jdvmd Posted November 28, 2019 #17 Share Posted November 28, 2019 It was just shampoo on the Seaside last month. I brought my own conditioner.
CruisinMaterial Posted November 30, 2019 #18 Share Posted November 30, 2019 It's also Bring Your Own TISSUES! It seems like fleet-wide from Fantastica rooms on down, there's no more tissues in the rooms. This was implemented on the Meraviglia prior to sailing but seems (based on reviews) to have spread to Seaside and Divina as well. This likely means MSC has decided to institute this policy fleet-wide. What a dumb way to cost save. I really wish the CDC tracked the number of respiratory illnesses and not just norovirus. You'd see how quickly MSC reverses course on this dumb decision.
jdvmd Posted November 30, 2019 #19 Share Posted November 30, 2019 Friends of ours as well as ourselves had tissues three weeks ago on the Seaside. Had to ask cabin steward for them but they were provided. We were all in Bella balconies.

Meraviglia repositioning cruise we asked for them and were told they were not giving them out anymore only to discover Aurea and YC folks had them right along. The answer seemed to be that people were using tissues as toilet paper, and clogging the system.

It sounded reasonable at the time, but the more I think about it, the more I am convinced that it is a cost-cutting measure.
Rare blueslily Posted December 15, 2019 #23 Share Posted December 15, 2019 (edited) Interesting topic. I rarely use toiletries provided on a cruise, in a hotel, etc. I like to use my own products since I know that they work for my hair and skin. I pack my own shampoo, lotion, soap, etc. I guess people with sensitive skin or unique hair types can relate. The last thing I want during vacation is to deal with the consequence of using a toiletry/personal care product that doesnt agree with my body. One product does not fit all types of people. Interesting topic indeed. But, I do agree with the questions about tissues, lol. Thats funny. But, I always travel with those as well.
