CozGurl Posted March 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2017 We are scheduled to cave tube but I don't think it will take the whole time we are in this port. What else could we do afterwards?
Rare crewsweeper Posted March 13, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 13, 2017 Private vendor or ship excursion? Lunch or zip line included? If lunch isn't included and you have a private vendor, have your guide take you to a good non-tourista place. If ship tour and no lunch they'll bring you back to the port with the group. If lunch included, they'll bring you back afterward. So take a few minutes to wander around the port and maybe go to the flea market across the street. CozGurl Posted March 14, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted March 14, 2017 Private vendor and I think they are serving lunch. So shopping/hanging around port is it. No beach around there?
Rare mitsugirly Posted March 17, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 17, 2017 If you are going with a private vendor (like .bz) they feed you and make sure you are back to the port in time to get to the ship on time and possibly do a little shopping there. You have to realize 1) this is a tender port...which means you could possibly be waiting for awhile to get over to the port and also coming back to the ship. 2) The caves are about 1 hour away in each direction. So, it makes for a pretty long day in the first place. 3) Always gotta factor in "all aboard" time, which is 1/2-1 hour before sailaway. We've done the cave tubing twice now and love it, but not a whole lot of time between arriving back in port until time to get on the ship. No, there's not any beaches anywhere accessible without getting on a boat to get to in Belize.
Nebr.cruiser Posted March 19, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 19, 2017 When we did cave tubing there really wasn't that much time afterwards--our tour included a lunch and was maybe 6 hours total. We did a little shopping at the port afterwards; since it is a fairly long tender ride, that took a while too. I don't think there are any near by beaches.
