Picture-A-Week 2017 - Week 11

We took a road trip with friends and visited a new (to me) location to photograph this year's wildflower bloom. 2017's drought-buster rains have prompted one of the better blooms in recent years and it was nice to drive through an uncommonly green countryside and wander the trails surrounded by carpets of color. This week's photo is representative of the rain-fed landscape and is a little unusual for me in that it was taken with my new phone. The market for inexpensive compact cameras has dried up and based on close inspection of unretouched photos from phones like the Google Pixel, demand won't be picking back up anytime soon.
