Different kind of smoking question.

My husband smokes a pipe and purchases large bags of pipe tobacco and dries it himself in the oven to take the moisture out of the tobacco. My question is will there be a problem boarding with the open packs of pipe tobacco? I already know there is only one place on the ship for him to smoke. We will be on the Ecstasy in December celebrating our 25th anniversary.

Can you not pack and seal it and place on your checked-in luggage?

I have a feeling that getting a "big sealed bag of pipe tobacco" onto the ship would be significantly easier than the explanation when you debark.

Customs: Sir, step out of line please.

Guy: It's legal, for my pipe! D'OH! I mean it's not the devils lettuce!

Customs: (you hear the glove snap) Sir, bend ov-ah please.

This may or not be how this plays out. But I am definitely interested to find out.

It's tobacco. He'll not encounter any issues. Quite easy to tell the difference between tobacco and marijuana.

A curious side note. I live in Massachusetts. We are one of the states that have legalized marijuana for consenting adults. I'm curious how this will be handled for cruises into and out of Boston?

Cruise lines follow federal laws in this matter.

Therefore marijuana is not allowed on the ship nor allowed to be used on the ship.
