Wishing on a star Posted April 16, 2018 #26 Share Posted April 16, 2018 We are not what I would call 'older' or 'ballroom dancers'... But even I will add my voice to the growing volume of dissent if HAL thinks that B B Kings stands alone, and is an acceptable replacement for other bands and music onboard. I would not find that to be okay.
Sea Belle Posted April 16, 2018 #27 Share Posted April 16, 2018 I hope the powers that be will at some point hear their passengers on this subject. So far they seem to be ignoring us. It seems a shame that ballroom dancing is being eliminated when so many of the people sailing with HAL are of the age to enjoy it. Hope springs eternal!! I wonder if they listen to anything their passengers say. I put "bring back the Neptunes" on every survey. The Neptunes did jazz sets and dance music sets and they were excellent musicians. "The Band" that replaced the Neptunes were usually good, too. I'm not a ballroom dancer, but I don't imagine that dancing to a piano player in the Ocean Bar would be very appealing compared to dancing to a a live combo.
