Because a lot of people are morons and don't pay attention to what is going on around them and are just outright rude.

 

Those people were around a long time before selfie sticks. I've rarely found them to bother me. I'm more irritated by the people who just stop in the middle of the hallway with no sense of who is around them, and those people usually don't have selfie sticks.

They stop to look at their phones. Not only in the middle of the hallway. At the supermarket entrance in front of the entrance and exit. On a stairway in my neighborhood. Like there is no one else there.

This is an old thread.... Realize there are now lot of places, Amusement Parks and even some Countries that now Ban these Selfie Sticks...

 

Yes, many places ban and/or discourage the use of Selfie Sticks. This is way I only occasionally use mine. Have a nice cruise.

Yep, exactly. But that has nothing to do with selfie sticks, and happens a LOT more. But even that still occurred before the days of cell phones, too. There's no getting around it.
