Possible to get to mainland without an excursion? Harvest Caye

i booked this cruise with the intent of going to Belize. My step-son lives there and want to spend the day or part of it visiting with him and his wife. I know there is a little village tight there on the mainland. Can I get there fairly easily? I know this is a recent stop, so things might be still in flux.

Anyone who has been recently would love your impressions and ideas.

From all I've read, the answer is no. But if the shopping area at the ferry dock on the mainland is open, you might be able to do that. Or find an excursion that might head to Placentia, if they have those and meet up there. Depending where your step-son lives in Belize, maybe he can take a drive down and see what it looks like from the mainland end. Or maybe you cancel NCL and grab a ship that stops in Belize City.
