We are at the hotel waiting to head to port

A couple of thoughts on this hotel.

Landed in FLL last night at 9:40. Called the hotel for the shuttle. After 40 minutes we grabbed a cab. I had read before that the shuttle is a wait.

Mind you the hotel is 2 miles from port.

Anyway the taxi was 20.00. We split with another couple waiting also.

I guess the taxi is 10.00 a mile? Lol

The hotel is fine for a sleep. Beds are comfy. Free breakfast has an assortment of offerings.

There is a CVS right next door open 24 hours and they sell WINE!

They offer a shuttle multiple times but we always grab a taxi. :)

That's pretty standard for a taxi rate. Try Uber next time as they always tend to be a few $$ cheaper. We've always used hotel shuttles to the port, but agree that some of them are very disorganized and/or infrequent. A lot seems to come down to number of people using it and the company providing the service. Enjoy your cruise!

Did the hotel staff indicate when the hotel will become a Four Points by Sheraton? The date has been slipping for a year and when I drove by last week it did look like the outside renovations were moving along - at least the scaffolding was off the side of the building.

What you were unaware of since your time there was limited was a Total Wine close-by in the Harbor Shops along with a Publix Grocery Store. Also, all taxis that enter FLL have to pay a $3 fee which is added to the fare and they usually charge a little extra for more than two people.

Yes we are very aware about the Harbor Shops. We have been there many times.

We only needed a couple of things from CVS.

I did not ask when they were turning to 4 Points.

There is some construction going on in the back of the building.

Staff was great
