Peñarol Posted April 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2017 Hi, my wife and I will spend 10 hours in Saint Thomas and we like to know as much as possible. What we must visit, beaches, places, restaurants, landmarks anything. Rent a scoter, cab or take a tour. Thanks

MizDemeanor Posted April 6, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 6, 2017 You could go back there a dozen times and plan something different each time. Make a list of 1, 2, and 3...see how much you can fit in now for this trip with this nice 10 hour port timeline and enjoy!
spidybabe Posted April 6, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 6, 2017 We love Godfrey tours. Great tour, great day. Also in town we go to the old Synagogue -very beautiful, historic, and different. Worth the trip. Also across from the pier - Cruzan Rum tasting booth - just tip and taste all the delicious flavors. Safe sailing

UFLaw Posted April 6, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 6, 2017 In St Thomas we are renting a boat and captain from Beach Bum. Get to do some snorkeling, visit caves, go to a small island and also to Jost Van Dyke. Sent from my iPhone
tlreze Posted April 6, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 6, 2017 If you are looking for a quiet gorgeous beach in St Thomas. Take a cab to Linquist (Smith Bay). It is a state park so there is a public restroom but no vendors, not many people. Grab some drinks and sandwiches before leaving. When ready to leave walk to the park entrance and she will call a cab. Soooo quiet, not many go there. The water is beautiful with a sandy bottom
ProfessorandtheGeek Posted April 7, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 7, 2017 Leave St. Thomas by ferry to St. John and enjoy this beautiful island for the day. The ferry runs from Charlotte Amalie to Cruz Bay in St. John, the cost is 12.00 pp each way. Spend the day lounging on Magens Bay beach, or explore this amazing island. claireruth Posted April 7, 2017 #10 Share Posted April 7, 2017 We were in St. Thomas last month for one of our stops and had a great time on this all day snorkeling trip: https://www.stjohndaysail.com/ We said it was the best Tuesday we'd ever had! It would depend on your time in port, though, I guess. We were there from 8-6, I think it was? We arranged a taxi to pick us up at the cruise ship to drive us to the marina, then I think the sailing was from 9 to 3:30 or 4, and the same taxi driver picked us up and took us back to the ship. We were back with plenty of time. We want to go back to just St. Thomas so we can do this again!

Ned11 Posted April 8, 2017 #13 Share Posted April 8, 2017 I took an island tour and then took a trip to St John. I bought this, a 'hook' bracelet that was made especially for me while I was in the island. All recommended on here before I went in 2013. Barb Nahoumi Posted April 8, 2017 #15 Share Posted April 8, 2017 The artist Camille Pissarro was born in St. Thomas in the late 18th Century. His studio and the old Synagogue are places of interest. There is a tram ride near the pier which is fun, and I love Meghan's Bay for swimming.

big al Posted April 10, 2017 #17 Share Posted April 10, 2017 We love Sapphire Beach..restrooms, food, bars, great beach..lounge chairs..also go up to Paradise Point for AMAZING views of Charlotte Amalie harbor- do this last or first..you go up cable cars 500 ft up to a mountain top ..there is a restaurant, bar, a few stores..great view! You may want to do a tour if you've never been to ST..Godfrey is very popular.. Also SHOPPING is amazing in ST..cheapest liquor prices ( along with St.Maarten)..go early..try A.H. Riise in town..they will ship your bottles to the ship..example of prices: Bailey's $28 for 2 bottles... absolute vodka $12-15..Grand Marnier $26 ( $45-50 in U.S.)..if you don't drink, give as presents to those who do..great deals on jewelry, leather, watches, clothes..ST is best known for shopping & beaches in the end- you can't go wrong with either!! blue_water Posted April 14, 2017 #20 Share Posted April 14, 2017 We are thinking in Tortola go to The bath and for St. Thomas rent a Jeep go to the beaches Both excellent ideas ;) For St Thomas the beaches are beautiful, and renting a car (a 4x4 is not needed) you can visit all of the East End beaches and even make it over to Magens if you want that. But a day visiting Coki, Sapphire, and Secret Harbor would be nice. Sapphire webcam (+ drone video) - http://www.sapphireinthesun.com Secret Harbor webcam - https://www.skylinewebcams.com/en/webcam/us-virgin-islands/st-thomas/east-end/saint-thomas-secret-harbour.html One thought, with a rental you have an option that most day visitors do not - driving to Hull Bay and enjoying some time there. it's hard to get a taxi there because the taxis want to take groups to the more popular beaches. So having a rental makes that very easy, Just a thought after hitting the East End beaches, or before. The Hull Bay Hideaway had a great burger and other items, they're open 10AM, closed on Tuesday. You'd probably be the only cruise ship visitors there... http://www.hullbay.com/menu.html
Ms411 Posted April 14, 2017 #21 Share Posted April 14, 2017 You don't need a jeep on St Thomas unless you want one for the fun factor. A regular car is fine. You might have to take what's available so don't get your heart set on any one particular type of vehicle. Be sure to turn location on your phone so you'll know where you were when you take selfies! It can get confusing when you get home.
Ms411 Posted April 14, 2017 #22 Share Posted April 14, 2017 A jeep isn't necessary to get to most beaches, but if you want one for the fun factor they're usually more expensive than a car. If you want to risk beaches way off the beaten path some require 4wd. Not sure how many beaches you can get to in just one day. Be prepared to take what's available because sometimes vehicles are overbooked. You should turn on location on your phone so you'll know where you are when you take selfies. That way you'll know where you were when you get home. It can get pretty confusing without the location on your pix!
