Questions about Carnival Magic

I will be cruising on the Magic over Halloween, and I have questions-

I read that the Italian restaurant is open for lunch on embarkation day-Carnival doesn't advertise this fact-do they still offer lunch there?

Does the Magic have the new menu?

For you who have cruised on her=what was the most fun part of the ship?

and

Is there a quiet place to have a cigarette, or are the smoking sections in the louder part of the ship?

thanks-

Yes lunch is provided in Cucina De Capitano. Its a pasta bar only. I didnt have lunch there but did enjoy dinner one night. Well worth the 15.00 upcharge.

Magic does have the new American Table menu.

My buddy that cruised with me last time was able to have a cigarette right outside of the Red Frog Pub on deck 5. It was pretty quiet out there especially at night. They provided him with an ashtray.

I just got off the Magic last week and had lunch in the Italian restaurant on embarkation day. There were lines everywhere else, but we were seated right away upstairs in the Italian restaurant. This was around 1:30. The meal is also free at lunch.

Yes, the Magic has the new menu.

The best part was Dr. E and the shows. Fabulous. I just wrote a review about our vacation on the Magic. You can read it here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2480020&highlight=magic

As for smoking, I saw people smoking on the back of the ship on Deck 11 (Tandor/Guy's burger side)side in the comfy wicker chairs, on Deck 11 by the main pool on the same side, in the Casino, and outside of the Red Frog Pub on Deck 5.

Hope this helps.

Do you know if they allow cigars there?

Sent from my SM-G900P using Forums mobile app

Cigars are supposed to be deck 11 only.

Just off today. Yesterday, the last sea day at 7:30 am 2 women were putting blue towels on every chair in the smoking area. I took one off and threw it on the next chair and took that chair. An hour and 30 minutes later no one had shown up. Shortly after I had moved the towel those 2 "ladies" took about 10 towels and moved aft where they set up 10 chairs.

I saw a staff member on Lido put 4 stickers on chairs with towels with no one in them. Mind you, 80% of the chairs had towels. 40 minutes later he came back and took the stickers but not the towels. No one ever showed up for those chairs in over 2.5 hours.

Ash trays are hard to come by. I saw a staff member picking them up early in the morning one day and asked her why and she said because no one is using them!?!?! Yet. No one cleaned ash trays. You had to dump them in buckets if you could find the bucket. Meanwhile staff was polishing the recycle bin over and over. Ugh!

Can anyone tell me the formal nights on Magic Western Carib sailing... Or how I find out?

Thanks!,

When we sailed in February on the Superbowl sailing, the formal night was on Tuesday, but normally they are on the first sea day and I believe the next to the last night.
