ColinIllinois Posted April 7, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2017 Depends on which port and itinerary you are talking about. Even for the ports the ships don't always dock on the same side depending on what the maintenance schedule is.
Cruisermom2nick Posted April 8, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2017 What's your preference and why? :D I prefer the left (port) side as 75%+ of the time I have cruised that is where we have docked. :) Save

phoenix1181 Posted April 8, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2017 We always cruise port side. No reason, it's just where we look for our cabin choices.............
cheshyrkat Posted April 8, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 8, 2017 I've always cruised on the starboard side...no particular reason!
fredflint Posted April 8, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 8, 2017 For Transatlantics always port for more sun otherwise best cabin Port out Starboard home POSH
xlxo Posted April 8, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 8, 2017 I generally like port to see the town's activities. However... starboard offers privacy... you are more likely able to keep your curtains open. starboard may be preferred for lower decks when the docking can be noisy in the early morning. don't-use-real-name Posted April 8, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 8, 2017 Simply because they have not made STARBOARD -a- LIQUOR !
Ask4Jay Posted April 8, 2017 #10 Share Posted April 8, 2017 Neither one. We cruise in AFT cabins. You can see both sides and, on Transatlantics, you are out of the constant wind.
albucchi Posted April 8, 2017 #11 Share Posted April 8, 2017 The view is much better on the port side. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Gershep Posted April 8, 2017 #12 Share Posted April 8, 2017 We usually book starboard especially when leaving from NY.
