Port side or starboard side?

Depends on which port and itinerary you are talking about. Even for the ports the ships don't always dock on the same side depending on what the maintenance schedule is.

I prefer the left (port) side as 75%+ of the time I have cruised that is where we have docked. :)

We always cruise port side. No reason, it's just where we look for our cabin choices.............

I've always cruised on the starboard side...no particular reason!

I generally like port to see the town's activities. However...

• starboard offers privacy... you are more likely able to keep your curtains open.
  
• starboard may be preferred for lower decks when the docking can be noisy in the early morning.

Neither one. We cruise in AFT cabins. You can see both sides and, on Transatlantics, you are out of the constant wind.
