usmsmike Posted April 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2017 Sailing on Equinox in June and flying into Miami, how far to Miami and what is the best mode of transportation (cab. Uber, etc) not a fan of bus transportation. Is there a special location for Uber pick up? Any estimate on cost would also be of help. Thanks. drd-aus Posted April 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2017 We fly into Ft Lauderdale this Friday for our cruise leaving Saturday from Miami and have booked Moveo from the airport to a hotel in Miami. The driver will pick us up at the curb and for two people with luggage the cost is around $100 including tip. There are lots of other options including a shared ride service like Super Shuttle that may be lower cost. When traveling on business I use Super Shuttle but on our previous cruise we took Moveo it was a nice relaxing ride.
griffy116 Posted April 12, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2017 We used SAS in December to go from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami. They charge about $14 pp (including luggage). It's a shared shuttle and they were super fast and reliable. We're going to use them again in June.
Rare Captain Funtime Posted April 12, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2017 We do this often as we don't like Miami's airport. We use Jiffy Jeff Transportation. Great service - Mercedes vans. $15/pp . We always add a tip. [emoji41][emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
casper106 Posted April 12, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 12, 2017 Uber will run you about $45 from FLL to Miami. Simple. Just call for an Uber and they will find you or call to double check.
shirazcruiser Posted April 12, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 12, 2017 We are sailing on Equinox (Miami port) next month and we'll be flying out of Ft. Lauderdale. We booked post-cruise transfers with Celebrity at $30 pp so I would imagine pre-cruise transfers would be the same amount.
lv2cruz Posted April 12, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 12, 2017 For our Feb.2017 cruise we flew into Miami. Used Lyft for the first time, ever. We had downloaded the app.prior to leaving. Within 3 minutes of our request we had a driver. Total cost to Ft. Lauderdale was $37.00 or $38.00. Private, fast and great service. Once the cruise was over again we requested a driver in Ft.Lauderdale right outside the cruise terminal. Arrived within 5 minutes. We stayed one night in South Beach post cruise. . Same price. Super easy and reliable. Highly recommend.
mickey89 Posted April 12, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 12, 2017 With the extension of the Tri-Rail into MIA Airport why don't you consider using this fabulous transport link. Cost about $3.75/pp from MIA to Fort Lauderdale station, then a short cab or Uber to the port.
Lisah101 Posted April 12, 2017 #10 Share Posted April 12, 2017 I used Lyft for FLL to port of Miami last year and it was about $35. They picked us up right outside as if it was a friend - It was nice not to have to wait on a shuttle or other people and it worked great for us! Rare 4cats4me Posted April 13, 2017 #11 Share Posted April 13, 2017 We will be using Larry's Limos. A sedan for three will run $70 plus tip from our hotel in Ft Lauderdale to the port of Miami ($88 total) For the return trip, there will be four of us ride sharing, so we have to reserve a larger vehicle, which means a limo, cost will be about $32-33 pp, which includes the gratuity. Given that X transfers would run $30 pp, we feel this is a good deal for us Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
