Winchester Ranger Posted April 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2017 The last time I sailed on QM2 Cunard were selling off empty balcony rooms for $500pp for the New York to Southampton crossing. Does anyone know how soon before the actual sail date these last minute prices typically start to kick in ?
Underwatr Posted April 13, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2017 For the June 15 eastbound I'm seeing $699 for an inside and $799 for a balcony. For the July 6 eastbound I'm seeing $799/$949 A little closer in, the May 15 eastbound is $599/$999 and the May 24 westbound is $599/$949. A little disappointing because I'd like to be on the July 6 TA but have business to attend to on the 11th.
Rare Solent Richard Posted April 13, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 13, 2017 I just checked my records and for a 15 December crossing last year I booked on 2 August and those prices were bargains.
Rare Bostonjetset Posted April 13, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 13, 2017 We got a great deal for the Jan 3rd, 2017 crossing [a little more than $500 for the balcony but still a steal. $500 was the price for insides though I believe] and we booked in Oct 2016. I've found, with most lines, that the best deals usually come after final payment. Also, the late fall / early winter crossings tend to get more discounts than the late spring/summer/early fall. Winchester Ranger Posted April 14, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted April 14, 2017 I think I'll check on prices in the 2 weeks running up to the first New York to Southampton sailing, and if I can remember I'll update this thread with actual rates. Let's be honest, they get you with the onboard costs anyway, the cabin is not their best profit center. They are also quoting the crossing as 7 days now as well, I seem to recall mine spanning into an 8th day. If only they would go back to 4 day crossings I would be able to sail so much more frequently.

Then you could do it every month! ;)
