Can't access dining room options yet? November 2017 Sailing

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I have booked the explorer of the seas in a royal family suite for November this year (y)(y)(y). During the original booking process, I had requested a 6:00 pm fixed dining time however was advised that it wasn't available (only 8 pm). I have been looking at the items available for pre-booking on the Royal Caribbean website (we booked the room through their phone number), however, I can't see any options in regards to the dining options. I thought I read somewhere that you could log into your cruise planner and reserve a specific time each day via the "my time dining" option however that doesn't seem to be available at this point in time.

Has anyone else been able to make a reservation like this in advanced, or do I have the wrong end of the stick so to speak:confused:?

Also, I have been looking at the drink packages, has anyone had any luck call Royal Carribean and getting a discount off the prices displayed online? Looking at spending $1,000 for drinks between 5 people, but the old wallet is groaning at just the thought!

Thanks in advanced! :D

If you are in a Royal Family Suite you should have priority as to the dining time you want. You should call back to Royal and request the time you want if you want the early or late time. They will add that you to your booking. There are only a certain number of reservations for dining that are opened on line when it opens. But if you speak with someone you will get put on whatever dining list you want. PS - you will also have a very nice table in your suite and you will be able to order menu items from the dining room delivered (no charge) to your suite.

Just to second this -- if you've booked the Royal Family Suite, you definitely should be able to get waitlisted (at the very least) on whichever meal time you would prefer.

That being said, I've had great experiences with My Time Dining and highly recommend it. And as mentioned previously, reservations for MTD become available roughly 90-100 days out from your cruise sailing date. Definitely make reservations if you do go the MTD to avoid long queues
