"LIVE" - Aloha, Radiance of the Seas May 5, 2017 Honolulu to Vancouver

Beautifully carved sliding doors mark the entrance into the State Dining Room. The room features a crimson theme with floor-to-ceiling windows, koa wood furnishings, elegant Bohemian crystal and Paris porcelain, and a massive floral carpet.

It;s amazing how many waterfalls there are on this island. Probably has to due with the over 100 inches of rain they get here on the north shore, There is a valley here that gets more than 400 inches each year,

We made a quick stop near a taro field which usually make for a good photo shot.

We made one last stop back near Kapaa before ending. We had a great time and our guide Matt was entertaining and informative.

Every night the ship is not in port on RCI. They sail outside the 3-mile limit, and the casinos are open. So this is a 12-night cruise with 2 overnights = 10 nights open casinos. :)

There may have been the opportunity the first night but not on the others as the track we have traveled has kept us too close to the islands. Also shops have been closed but we understand they will be open tonight,

Sorry, I stand corrected. :o I've never had the casino closed when we transited the islands, so I was going on previous experience.

On Serenade and Radiance pre-Voom we used to take our laptop to the atrium to post pictures to FB. It was the only spot that we had a strong enough connection. We would have a drink, upload pics and listen to the piano player.

Now that they have Voom ;) you might want to try the same approach. Looking forward to the rest of your review.

Sorry to hear Radiance's voom is still a PITA. It was bad last year in Alaska, was really hoping they'd got the kinks out this year.

Weird thing was, while most of us had trouble, some people could FaceTime from their phones and iPads just fine. Never did figure out how they got so lucky.

Hmm, get a drink, load a picture. get a drink, load a picture. I think I like that pattern. :D;p

Hello, today we took the rental car up to Waimea Canyon and then continued out to the end of Highway 550 on the west coast. The day started nice with beautiful weather so the drive over was pleasant

On the way up we stopped to take pictures of unique formations and a waterfall.

We arrived at the lookout and thankfully there was only one tour bus there (though two more arrived as we were departing).

I think it is a requirement by law to post at least three pictures of the local chicken residents.

We then headed out to Pu'u O Kila Lookout at the end of the highway, The idea was to take pictures of Kalalau Valley. As described "Clouds permitting, the views of Kalalau Valley are superb at this location and you can venture right up to the edge of the valley". So this is what we anticipated seeing:

Yeah right. As we pulled up there was indicators it was not to be. Possibly it was the fog bank we drove through for the last half mile .
