Scrappytraveller Posted May 16, 2017 #401 Share Posted May 16, 2017 Was it hard to get a nice table for two in the MDR the 3 times you dined there? Do you have any recommendations for a location so we don't end up with one 8" from the next table? Did you ask for the same wait staff each time? We didn't wait at all on this cruise, even at peak 7-7:30. The section they gave us was toward the back near the railing, starboard side (but we never got the railing). Tables there were well spaced, There are some other 2 tops near support beams, but some others are very close together. Mrs. Winks Posted May 16, 2017 #404 Share Posted May 16, 2017 Thank you, Mr. T and Scrappytraveller for the review. My DH and I will be sailing the same itinerary for my birthday in October. You have given us the gift of excited anticipation! Enjoy your next adventure!!
Scrappytraveller Posted May 16, 2017 #405 Share Posted May 16, 2017 Hope you all enjoy your upcoming cruises as much as we enjoyed ours. One last bit: - there were new wines by the glass, yay! Never saw the menu in MDR though, they seem to want you to know what you want or just order something generic. But overall in most venues it was better. They still have the sugar filled Wente swill though. [emoji849][emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Scrappytraveller Posted May 17, 2017 #407 Share Posted May 17, 2017 I only chose from a list in the specialties and at the passport bar. We didn't really go to many other bars in the evening other than that and martini bar. The first night we went to the MDR, I got a glass at passport and brought it in and just asked if they had it there to refill, which they did. The other two times in the MDR I just ordered the same one for simplicity because the sommelier just asked me what I wanted without presenting a list. It's a been a few cruises now since they've given me a list in the MDR without having to ask for it. Poor! (Pun? Scrappytraveller Posted May 17, 2017 #408 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Oh and they have different lists in each specialty restaurant. The only one I had trouble with was silk harvest - only 3 reds by the glass, 2 cheap ones and the Kendall Jackson, which luckily they still had on the last night of the cruise. They usually run out of that one. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
Rare CTSandy Posted May 17, 2017 #409 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Thanks so much for posting the excellent review! We're sailing Equinox for the first time in two months - just the seven day cruise, but really looking forward to it after reading your comments. Rare 4cats4me Posted May 17, 2017 #411 Share Posted May 17, 2017 :( If Kendall Jackson is considered upscale, I'm in trouble... lol :o We have that stuff everywhere here, every street corner, every drug store, every grocery store, Winery just a hop skip and a jump from us... well, sort of... and we never drink it. We prefer a good Sutter Home instead. 🤣 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Scrappytraveller Posted May 17, 2017 #412 Share Posted May 17, 2017 :( If Kendall Jackson is considered upscale, I'm in trouble... lol :o That one is $11-12 by the glass I think and the limit is $13. So yeah, that's a better one in celebrity's eyes. [emoji23] The good news is you can pay the difference for a better glass over the $13 limit. IF they have it. [emoji849] but that wasn't even an option at silk harvest. I'm sure they would have gotten one from another specialty if I'd insisted, but it wasn't worth the hassle. flipflap78 Posted May 17, 2017 #413 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Siamo sul ponte 10, Per quanto riguarda il pacchetto di bevanda Immagino che dipende dal singolo individuo, ma per me che avevo sempre puntuale avere il pacchetto premium come mi piace provare tutte le bevande premium, pur non avendo a firmare per qualsiasi cosa o tenere traccia è un vantaggio per me [emoji4] Inviato dal mio iPhone utilizzando Tapatalk [/ quote] From the menus seen, with the classic there are few things available, the prices are all from $ 12 upI will also leave in October (I read that many people will leave in the same month) thank you very much for having put the photos up to date and for the report, you are wonderful! We are cruising the Equinox in August this year, and then sailing the NCL Escape in November with our kids. I think the Escape and Epic are fairly similar right? Are you doing a live thread for the Epic? Thanks in advance, Dan

We are cruising the Equinox in August this year, and then sailing the NCL Escape in November with our kids. I think the Escape and Epic are fairly similar right? Are you doing a live thread for the Epic? Thanks in advance, Dan Hi, I've done the escape before but this is my first time on the epic, from first impressions I'd say they were quite similar in a lot of ways, but different in a few, The escape has the outside dining areas etc and the casino is split over 2 levels if I remember correctly [emoji848] plus maybe a couple of extra bars/restaurants... NCL are a much better option for kids, both young & old as there really isn't as much to do for them on celebrity, celebrity do have a kids club but there really isn't much to do other than that... IMHO that is, Also the nightlife on NCL is way better if that's your thing (not mine [emoji23]) I'm normally in bed by 10 [emoji23] No live review of the Epic I'm afraid as I'm not planning on doing much other then burning by the pool... there's only so many pictures of my feet I can post... [emoji12][emoji23] But I do feel like I'll have a good time and people seem to be in a good mood around the ship so it's all good [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Lorey2007 Posted May 17, 2017 #417 Share Posted May 17, 2017 If you go to the theater be prepared for the uncomfortable seats if they are anything like on Getaway, Pearl or Pride of America. We like to go to the shows and those crappy seats just about ruined our nights. Enjoy your cruise.
pops7272 Posted May 18, 2017 #418 Share Posted May 18, 2017 I noticed that the unlimited internet package was US$299. Did you buy on-board or pre-pay? (It is currently being sold for my cruise in September for GB£207 - a discount of about US$20).

(It is currently being sold for my cruise in September for GB£207 - a discount of about US$20). We had it included in our deal so not sure how much it was to buy, It could be the £ has got a little stronger and something to do with celebrities exchange rate, it's not always up to date for working out conversions, The only discounts I'm aware of onboard or before boarding are the captain club level ones... Wally tennis Posted May 18, 2017 #420 Share Posted May 18, 2017 Only halfway thru your May 5, Equinox review. Great reading. We sail her Nov. 6. But I have to ask one thing...Do all Brits post pictures of their feet on vacation. We have a friend from Scotland that visits our community in Florida a few times a year. I see lots of pictures of his feet on facebook. Dave K :D

I never got to meet you but I do remember seeing you because of your jersey. My son has the same one! It was a great cruise. I did have Aspen coffee iced, it was also delicious. mickrory Posted May 22, 2017 #425 Share Posted May 22, 2017 Great Live review Mr T. Never came across you on board - chatted one day to a Spurs fan in a Kane shirt at the pool bar who was laughing about the Gooners finishing fifth in a three horse race.:D For the folk who are asking about shows we only missed one 7pm show as we always went before late dining in the MDR. We've been on 26 cruises on various lines and the shows were the best we've seen. Ashlie Amber who performed the Whitney Houston tribute show was amazing. Lovely girl, had a chat with her in the Sky Lounge one night - she was leaving the ship at the end of the cruise to embark on a solo career. Look out for her.
