Has anyone done Mont Saint Michel excursion thru Princess Cruises and how was it?

We are on Carribean Princess in July doing British Isles cruise and wonder how this excursion is. Our ages are 78 76.

MSM is a lot of walking uphill & can be hot with all the crowds

Probably worth the trip I never made it to the top though

 

You may be better off just to walk around St Malo or tour another place

In July it will be very busy as it is France's second most visited site after the Eiffel Tower.

 

The surrounding countryside is very pretty but it is a long very steep climb up to the abbey once you get onto the mount.

 

Only you can decide whether you could manage the hike up or if it would be too much.

We're in the same age group and did MSM on our own.....DH made it up to the top....I had a delicious lunch with a new friend at one of the many restaurants and shops at the lower level. It is an amazing place whether you go to the top or not.

 

When I say on our own, we were not on a cruise but touring France.
