cruiserdudebobby8 Posted May 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2017 With Mariner of the Seas coming to Florida, is a chance to Quantum of the Seas could be coming back to the USA also? It seems that the new Quantum class ship will be based overseas Sent from my SM-G930V using Forums mobile app
CruisinCons Posted May 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 17, 2017 She went thru a lot of changes to turn into an Asia ship; I don't think they would change it back. Just my guess.

The_Big_M Posted May 17, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 17, 2017 She went thru a lot of changes to turn into an Asia ship; I don't think they would change it back. Just my guess. Changes? Not really. There's a switch in the casino/Diamond club, but they already switch that back between seasons for Ovation in Australia. There's also the noodle shop from Johnny rockets, but that's no big deal. It's like switching from Rita's cantina to crab shack, and like many other restaurant changes that have happened. Time and cost are nothing if they think revenue options are better elsewhere. That said, I wouldn't be predicting her permanently leaving China, due to the market opportunities there.
Sirlancelot Posted April 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 11, 2018 I don't see any quantum ots cruises to book after 2018 -- is that because of dry dock and/or revisiting the home port of Shanghai? Sirlancelot Posted April 11, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 11, 2018 I don't see any quantum ots cruises to book after 2018 -- is that because of dry dock and/or revisiting the home port of Shanghai? OOPS just found the change to singapore! Royal Caribbean announced Quantum of the Seas will call Singapore home for six months in 2019-2020. Prior to her arrival in Singapore, Quantum of the Seas will be revitalised in a multi-million dollar project that will see the ship refreshed and upgraded. Her itineraries include 4-night cruises to Penang or Phuket, 5-night cruises to Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang), Penang and Phuket, a 7-night cruise to Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang), Penang and Phuket (with an overnight) and a 7-night cruise to Bangkok (Laem Chabang) (with an overnight) and Ho Chi Minh City.. Over her 34 sailings during the six months from November 2019 to April 2020, Quantum of the Seas is expected to add some 150,000 guests to the Singapore cruising scene. No, it's because China itineraries don't follow normal RCI releases - they are released later.

Havingfun2010 Posted April 12, 2018 #10 Share Posted April 12, 2018 She went thru a lot of changes to turn into an Asia ship; I don't think they would change it back. Just my guess. HaHa. What changes? It's common for ships sailing out of certain ports, to have signs also in local language and English. Johnny Rockets is a noodle bar. Removed some slot machines, and added tables. Outside of that, the ship, is exactly the same, and taking slots out of inventory and putting the tables away is maybe a one or two day process...... There are some ships moving around in Asia, but the Quantum is staying to at least 2020. The ship is a cold weather ship, so that's my guess why a Quantum Class is in NJ, 2 in Asia, and will be in Alaska.
Rare John&LaLa Posted April 12, 2018 #11 Share Posted April 12, 2018 Doesn't it have a panda for its mascot? MSC Spledia has its name written in Chinese characters. The space where the noodle shop is cannot be switched easily back and forth as there are various physical design elements that would not allow it, which is why it is not switched for the Australia season on Ovation and it remains the noodle shop. I coud imagine that when the ship will not be used for the Asia market anymore next year they might turn it into a Johnny Rockets.
