imo you should never book a cruise with ports in Egypt if that is your main objective. It's way too risky and uncertain an area and those ports coulee easily be changed should something unfortunate happen.

From what I am seeing on Cunard's web site, the three Egypt calls on QM2's 2018 world voyage itinerary (Suez Egypt, Suez Canal, and Port Said Egypt) are all listed for "Sat 28 Apr - cruise by" and are all marked with "C - Cruise by means you will pass this destination but not disembark". So, my take on this is that QM2's 2018 world voyage will simply be doing a Suez Canal transit with no actual stops in Egypt.

On the final sector of QM2 World Cruise this year the 2 ports in Egypt were cancelled and substituted by Limassol. We came straight through the Suez Canal.

However, instead of transmitting the Messina Straits the Captain got authorisation to dock in Messina and some passengers went off to Mt. Etna and Taomina.

Limassol features in the WC 2018.
