Packing Tips

Recommended Posts

My husband and I are fixing to go on our first cruise in 22 days. Can I get some good packing tips from seasoned cruisers. I don't want to "over pack" but I want to make sure we have everything we need. Are there any specific items we should bring for our room. Anything we should leave at home that we think we might need but wont use at all.

Thanks =)

Have you checked any of the hundreds of packing or "must have" threads on CC.

I pack in carry on only. It's something I've done for years. Fear of missing luggage. HATE going to luggage carousel. My recent trip was only 7 days. Sun. - Sat. I packed in a 20" duffel bag, and a large beach tote as my 'personal' item. I only discovered this as I packed my duffel bag for the way home. I put all my dirty laundry (which was 90+% of my clothes) in a walmart plastic bag. I put that bag in my duffel and found that it only took up 1/2 of the duffel bag. I had a lot of room still in the duffel! I had never thought those packing cubes would be worth it. But now I'm thinking they may be a useful option.
