Two passengers almost missed the ship today June 16/17 . Captain was kind and opened up the gangway door and was assisted by dockmaster Willy to allow the girls to board.

Very lucky! I just happened to have the web cam running in the background while I was working today and caught the whole thing live! I wasn't sure they were going to open the gangway for them! The web cam operator didn't miss a step!

We were in Cabo in April and there were three sets of runners there.

Cabo is a tender port where the ship anchors outside the harbor. The ship had pulled anchor and was slowly rotating with thruster. Over a 20 minute period, three separate private tenders came rushing out to the ship and the captain allowed them to transfer aboard.

Those few last drinks and a couple of hundred dollars to hire a private tender to avoid getting stranded in Mexico!

The Gem's captain waited (?) and delayed sailing from Port Canaveral for almost 75 minutes ... several weeks ago, as 2 or more pax never made their way back to the port, for whatever reasons (names of several paged over the PA system before 9 PM scheduled sailing).

Gangways pulled away but stayed at the pier, finally ... security unloaded luggages & belongings to port worker (ship agent ?) then pulled up the smaller gangway on deck 3, released the ropes and set sail around 10:15 PM.

Those 2 at Dockyard had a lot of folks to be thankful for ... looked like they're returning from the beach. Their passenger records should be noted & blacklisted on future sailings, at a minimum ... Willie & crews on the dock had to wait and don't they also hold up the tugboat as it would escort the ship out the shipping channel.
