cruiserking Posted June 20, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2017 It looks like the ship leaves at 14:00. I would arrive by 10:30 am. Check in, go through security and wait to board. The latest maybe an hour and a half before departure. Jonathan Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Forums mobile app

Bobbingbob Posted June 28, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 28, 2017 I would also recommend arriving a good few hours before departure time as we have found that departing from Barcelona has got busier and busier over the past couple of years. There is nothing more annoying than standing in the check-in with 'privileged boarding' watching everyone else who arrived early actually boarding while you are still having to queue to fill in the health questionnaire which you've already printed off and filled in at home! Get there as early as possible - we will next time - you can always find things to occupy yourself if you do have to wait a while and there's a nice bar and outside area at Barcelona embarkation lounge.. tenpin Posted June 29, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 29, 2017 Boarding at Barcelona is the pits, instant boarding is quoted in the latest Club rule for Perla Diamante, yet they made us wait in a cold biting wind as other guests handed over their luggage, as we only had hand luggage thought we would just board but no even as Diamante & Suite guests we boarded later than a first time cruiser whom we met on the plane. This was not down to Costa I might add, but the Spanish security guard's who would not let us upstairs, it took best part of an hour to get a Costa staff member down and she soon took us upstairs to book in, long queue at suite desk longer than the other lines. Costa got a letter when we got back, & a apology was accepted but never cruise out of Barcelona until they sort it out.
