Oasis: deck 9 or 12?

Recommended Posts

We can book 9602 and 9604 or 12602 and 12604, are either of these combinations better or does it not matter?

Deck 9 gets you closer to Central Park, Boardwalk, Promenade, Theater, Casino, and dining areas. Deck 12 gets you closer to swim, zipline, and sports areas.

It likely depends on which of those areas you will visit the most, if you want to reduce time in elevators or stairs.

We have booked several times on Deck 9 in the past and enjoyed those cabins. More recently, we have been booking on Deck 8.

Does not matter much, though I'd have a slight preference for deck 9, because of it's proximity to deck 8 and Central Park.

Agree with this line of thinking. Stayed on deck 9 earlier this month & would personally choose it over 12 only because the Promenade & Central Park mean more to me than the higher decks. Pick whichever is closer to the decks you frequent.

Thanks for all the replies. We have three kids who will probably spend a lot of time doing activities on the upper deck but I also think we'll be everywhere. We love to spend time on the balcony too and like the idea of a larger balcony in the x602 rooms.

Both sets of cabins are in the forward hump, so you will be using the forward elevators a lot. There are about 120 more cabins located in the front of deck 9 as opposed to deck 12. That is 2-3 hundred more people getting on and off deck 9 front elevators. We have had deck 12 D1 front hump cabins on Allure and Oasis and their great. happy cruising

If you are diamond the diamond lounge is on 12, good place to get coffee the morning, or a drink later

Not yet. Our last two cruises were on DCL, going back to RCL after one cruise on Freedom six years ago. I have a feeling we'll be staying with RCL given all the additional activities on Oasis.
